Waivers on the age requirement

Postby johnnyford on Tue Jan 06, 2009 10:18 pm

Hello

I am Johnny Ford, currently active duty navy, looking at retirement in the next three years, I have wanted to get into the Federal Law Enforcement arena for the past 6-7 years or so. I will be 37 years old when I retire in 2012, I will alo have my BS/Criminal Justice/Crime Scene Investigations this year. What, if any options do I have to apply for a position, given the age requirement. Are there any avenues that I can take. Thanks for your time.

Johnny

I don't think there is much you can do when it comes to the Capitol Police. According to their website, the only age exception is if you are "presently serving or have previously served in a Federal civilian law-enforcement-retirement-covered position."
